IT infrastructure leadership and oversight
I have spent much of my career leading teams, vendors, and projects that keep core systems healthy. My focus is predictable operations, strong foundations, and clear communication between technology and the rest of the business.
Core leadership strengths
Infrastructure strategy and roadmapping
Build and execute roadmaps for network, server, storage, and cloud platforms that align with business goals. Prioritize risk, plan migrations, and sequence work so the organization can keep running while change happens.
Team leadership and mentoring
Lead infrastructure and operations teams, support career growth, and create working practices that reduce firefighting. Encourage documentation, repeatable processes, and calm incident response.
Vendor and budget management
Manage relationships with service providers and vendors, keep contracts aligned with real needs, and make sure the spend matches the value delivered.
How I typically engage
Senior infrastructure manager or director
Oversight of on-prem and cloud infrastructure, identity and access management, storage, backup, and disaster recovery. I work closely with security, development, and business stakeholders.
Hands-on architecture and escalation point
Remain technical enough to set standards and assist on complex issues in Proxmox, Microsoft 365 and Entra, virtualization, and networking. I do not delegate blindly and hope for the best.
Change and modernization leader
Guide organizations through platform upgrades, datacenter moves, and major shifts such as consolidation into virtualized or cloud environments. Balance stability with necessary progress.
Selected leadership outcomes
High availability platforms
Designed and delivered Proxmox-based clusters with shared storage and failover. Reduced outage risk and created a clear path for system growth.
Network and security improvements
Implemented firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation using platforms such as OPNsense. Improved visibility and reduced the chance of a single misconfiguration taking everything offline.
Backup and recovery that works
Introduced Proxmox Backup Server and other tools with tested restore procedures. Shifted backup conversations from faith to evidence.
