Andrew G. Hargreave, III
I have spent most of my career making sure that servers boot, networks route, backups restore, and users can get their work done without thinking about the systems underneath.
The short version
I am an IT infrastructure leader and consultant based in the Chicago area. Over nearly three decades I have worked across small businesses, non-profits, and larger enterprises.
I enjoy building stable platforms, untangling messy environments, and helping organizations make clear decisions about technology.
I run agh3 IT Services to provide fractional leadership and hands-on expertise to teams that need both.
How I work
I value honesty, clear tradeoffs, and predictable outcomes. I would rather tell you that a nice-sounding idea is a bad fit than implement something that will collapse in six months.
I prefer long-term relationships where I can help shape the environment over time, although I also take on focused projects that need a careful execution.
A few details
Experience highlights
- ●Close to thirty years in IT infrastructure and operations
- ●Leadership roles covering servers, storage, networking, and cloud
- ●Long history of consulting with small and mid-sized organizations
Outside of work
I experiment with homelabs, 3D printing, and other projects that occasionally escape into the real world. This tends to make production environments safer, since most bad ideas get broken at home first.
